“Christie Dashiell – she’s back….finally….with her sophomore album Journey In Black and it’s definitely been worth the wait!  Each track on the album is a beautiful display of just what a brilliant musician she is; the warmth and astonishing range her voice, the harmonies on her original compositions not to mention the unique re-workings of two jazz standards. I could wax lyrical about this album but do yourselves a favour and listen for yourselves!”
– Ruth Fisher, Jazz FM, UK

“Look up Who’s Next and Christie Dashiell‘s name has gotta be there. Her at-long-last debut recording “Journey In Black” is just out. Around the DMV her promise is not news. Christie’s an HU product after all… you know! – honors grad from the Afro Blue vocal ensemble program (& current HU and UDC vocal educator). In Afro Blue hers was a forever compelling presence. She has all the nuances – often casually easing in some astounding vocal inflection, including an interplanetary scat technique that she uses judiciously & comfortably, always in service to the music, never as gratuitous ornament. Don’t you dare sleep Christie Dashiell! This evening she thrilled a thoroughly charmed crowd at Amp in North Bethesda (err… Rockville) w/the Dean – Allyn Johnson on piano, Romeir Mendez on bass & her crafty brother C.V. Carroll III Dashiell on drums.”
