Edgefest 2019: OUT West

EDGEFEST 2019: OUT WEST

OCTOBER 16 – 19

Kerrytown Concert House presents Edgefest, its annual 4-day experimental “out” jazz and creative new music festival. Edgefest 2019 : OUT West – explores the rich historical contributions of West Coast artists in the development of avant jazz improvisation and new music. A roster of distinguished ground-breaking composer-performers with their ensembles and collaborators will illuminate their various innovative roles in the avant/jazz world of today. Ann Arbor/Detroit area improvisers will be integrated into the festival, often collaborating with visiting artists. Diverse audiences from the SE Michigan/Northern Ohio/Illinois area and beyond have a rare opportunity to be exposed to this innovative art form in a series of free and ticketed public concerts in downtown Ann Arbor with related educational activities.

Founded in 1997, Edgefest is an award-winning annual avant-garde jazz and creative new music festival with a unifying purpose: to explore new music created by today’s composers and performers from the United States and beyond. Edgefest began as a singleday event and is now a major 4 day festival that includes collaborations and educational outreach.
