Pianist, Alyssa Smith presents a concert of through-composed, semi-through-composed, and completely improvised solo piano pieces. Weaving classical styles such as Romanticism, Impressionism, and Contemporary with inspiration from artists such as Bill Evans and Chick Corea, Alyssa creates a unique blend of styles and an approach to the piano guided by a simple and pure love of the instrument. Alyssa seeks to encapsulate the universal experiences we all share, focusing on the ways we can find humor and beauty in these moments through the unique lens of extemporaneous music.
