Formosa Quartet: Significances
“Bold and intense, like shots of pure espresso…the performances go beyond the beautiful and into the territory of unexpectedly thrilling.”
– MUSO Magazine
The Formosa Quartet returns to Kerrytown Concert House to perform one of the most iconic works in the string quartet repertoire: Schubert’s renowned Rosamunde Quartet! Composed during a prolific period in his later years, this piece reflects Schubert’s awareness of life’s fleeting nature, capturing a profound mix of nostalgia and melancholy. This sublime masterpiece is paired with one of the Formosa Quartet’s “signature sets” including vibrant, virtuosic selections by Clancy Newman, designed to lift your spirits and leave you tapping your feet with joy.
