Kerrytown Concert House is thrilled to welcome back to its stage Preservation Hall Legend – clarinetist, saxophonist and flutist Charlie Gabriel! A fourth-generation jazz musician from New Orleans, Gabriel has strong ties to Detroit, where he moved as a teenager, and to Kerrytown Concert House, where in 1994, he recorded his award-winning CD, Live at the Kerrytown Concert House with jazz pianist Red Richards. He came back to KCH again with Richards in 1997 to collaborate in a tribute to Doc Cheatham with Marcus Belgrave and Kurt Krahnke. Now on the heels of his 91st birthday, Gabriel returns for a reunion performance with former bandmates Paul Keller & Pete Siers, and for an especially meaningful collaboration with Marcus Belgrave’s son and multi-woodwind-instrumentalist Kasan Belgrave. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear this elder statesman of Preservation Hall and New Orleans jazz play at KCH – up close and personal!
