Klezmephonic – Not Just The Maccabees: Songs & Dances of Jewish Resistance
Klezmephonic – Not Just The Maccabees: Songs & Dances of Jewish Resistance
Since its inception in 2014, Klezmephonic has become one of the busiest and the most sought-after Klezmer bands in Michigan. Being deeply embedded in the tragic and glorious history of Jewish life, Klezmer music can only be fully understood and appreciated in the context of that life, and its historical, social, and spiritual aspects. Amidst frolicking freilahks and sirbas, wailing clarinet and sobbing violin Klezmephonic will tell a story of strength, tenacity, and limitless beauty of the poetic narrative of simple Jewish life.
