Originally from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, Kate currently lives in Ann Arbor pursuing her BFA in Musical Theatre at the University of Michigan. Kate’s love for music spans a variety of vocal styles including jazz, folk/bluegrass, country, blues, classic rock and musical theatre.  Kate’s previous musical theatre stage credits include Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof w/ the Philadelphia Orchestra, Val in A Chorus Line, and Sophie in Mamma Mia at the local Encore Theatre Company. In addition to stage performance, Kate is currently the director and co-producer of Vanities: The Musical at the University of Michigan, set to go up December 8th and 9th. Kate is also actively recording her first cover album entitled: The Friendliest of Cities, including musical selections that were formative influences on her artistry as a vocalist and musician. @kateecummings
